I adore these strong wild flowers for they light up my garden when other flowers have long since gone to sleep for the winter. Like a beautiful pink butterfly these flowers in float around in abundant groups on the end of their long stalks at the most unusual times of year. Nerine is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Amaryllidaceae, subfamily Amaryllidoideae. They are bulbous perennials, some evergreen, associated with rocky and arid habitats. They bear spherical umbels of lily-like flowers in shades from white through pink to crimson. Higher classification: Amaryllidaceae
