Deep In Rural Aberdeenshire Scotland, there are many secret Beech tree avenues. I recall the first time I ever discovered this secret location, where a beech hedge has been left to go wherever it want to. It went up and up then over to form a wonder arched avenue for the tiny road below. Beech bark is generally smooth and grey and the leaves shiny green and oval, turning orange and red in the autumn.
